In the 1970 s,Ronald Ingelhart found that in developed countries, people's values began to weaken the emphasis on economic, political and security guarantees, which in turn increased the freedom,self-expression and more in government decision-making As well as non-materialism such as the quality of life,Inglehart calls this value "post-materialist values."Ingelhart does not make a clear theoretical definition of the materialist / post-materialist values, but defines the two by means of measurement.Through the empirical investigation of the changes in values around the world,he formed a complete political and cultural theory with "post-materialist values" as the core.It is in this way that his theory is fresh and unique. This essay focuses on Ingelhart's post-materialist values.Reference to the development of the materialistic values in European and American society.First,by analyzing its survey data, referring to the relevant domestic scholars' research and according to the actual situation of the major contradictions in Chinese society after the 19 th National Congress,China's social subject has entered the post-post-materialist phase of value.Second,to explore this new value has created a new political issue.People pay more attention to such issues as environment, gender equality and freedom. The emergence of these new problems also has an impact on the current social and political development in China. Finally, according to these influences,it explores how China should cope with this new change with a view to arousing domestic scholars' attention to the theory of Ingelhart and playing a positive role in promoting Chinese political culture and China's political development.
