Ronald Inglehart is the representative of the field of political culture research,his research has been of concern.Based on the Almond's theory,he studied the empirical study of empirical research and rejuvenated the already weak political culture.In 1981,Inglehart and his team conducted detailed empirical research on different cultural circles in more than 97 countries and regions around the world,and conducted detailed analysis of the data from the sampled data to explore the changing laws of citizens' values.And finally put forward the theory of change of values.Inglehart's theory of values through the lack of assumptions and socialization assumptions,with the citizens of the intergenerational changes,the values of citizens from materialism to post-materialism.In this process,the change of values will be and social politics,the economy will affect each other.With the survival of people is no longer a threat,more security will make people from the desire for material gradually turned to a higher level of self-expression demands.The study of Inglehart has important implications for both the methodology and the value of thought in the development of various disciplines,but at the same time its own theoretical limitations have been controversial.Beside,for contemporary China,with the continuous development of economy since the reform and opening up,the improvement of productivity has accelerated the speed of post-materialism in China.According to Inglehart's prediction,China will be through two or three decades to complete a value of the intergenerational change.Therefore,as a developing country still in transition stage,Inglehart's theory also has important revelation to contemporary China.The thesis is divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction,introduces the background and significance of the topic,and the summary of the research about Inglehart;The second part is the study of his theory of the formation process and the framework of the system;The third part is to sum up the relationship between value change and economy or political society;The fourth part summarizes the ideological value and limitations of his theory;The fifth part summarizes the development of the theory of values in China and the enlightenment from the present situation of China.
