For university faculty members,trade unions are their interest representatives.It is its basic responsibility to maintain the legitimate rights and interests of the teachers and staff,but in reality,the function of the trade union in maintaining the rights and interests of the staff and workers is limited by various aspects and fails to play this function effectively.Trade unions in Colleges and universities will play a more and more important role in safeguarding the rights and interests of teachers and workers.Therefore,the role of trade unions in Colleges and universities in our country needs to be reassessed.Especially,the trade unions in Colleges and universities can play a role in maintaining the legitimate rights and interests of the vast majority of the staff.This paper,aiming at the problem of the rights and interests of the teachers and workers in Colleges and universities at present,takes the trade unions of N universities as the research object,and uses the methods of literature research and questionnaire investigation to find the infringement of the rights and interests of the teachers and workers in N colleges and universities,the lack of trust degree of the workers to the trade unions,the dispositions of the role of the labor union in maintaining the rights of the staff and the workers,and the weak enforcement of the rights.And so on.The internal reasons are narrow scope of safeguarding rights and interests,dependence of trade unions and lack of guarantee for funds.The external causes are the lack of ideological basis for safeguarding rights,the lack of legal means for safeguarding rights,the lack of a sound guarantee system and the status of legal persons.Based on internal improvement strategies,such as safeguarding the rights and interests of the teachers and workers according to law,promoting the socialization of trade union organizations,reforming the way of the appointment of trade union cadres,and improving the income and expenditure of trade unions,and based on the strategy of external improvement,such as further perfecting the trade union law,building the supervision mechanism of the maintenance of the right to work,and speeding up the reform of the management system of colleges and universities.To clarify the legal responsibility of trade unions.
