The Transformation From “County Fair” To “The Special Town”

It has always pay great attention to the economic development of ethnic areas in our country.Since the 18 National Congress,it has proposed that "all ethnic groups should meet each other in the great family of the Chinese nation,help each other,keep unite and harmonious,and develop together" in the CPC Central Committee.It has been stressed repeatedly that "in order to achieve a well-off society in an all-round way,no nation can be less." During the 13 th Five-Year Plan period,our country made the construction of "characteristic towns" an important grasp of promoting supply-side structural reform and new urbanization.It is pointed out that ethnic regions should promote the construction of new types of urbanization with national culture as the carrier and form architectural styles and industrial advantages.The unique protection and development model of minority towns with unique cultural identity.These measures are also the meaning of the "strategy of rural revitalization" and "strategy of coordinated regional development" that put forward in the19 th CPC National Congress of the Party.It is an important path for the Party and the state to solve the problem of agriculture,countryside and farmers and provide strategic guidance for the social development of minority areas in the future.Xizhou town is one of the first to be selected as“Special Town”.This famous Bai nationality town,with a history of more than 1,000 years has accumulated profound national culture and rich ethnic customs.In particular,“Xizhou Street”,which has existed here for more than 1,000 years,it is one of the famous "rural bazaars" in Dali,Yunnan and even southwest China.In history,it has played an important role in meeting the production and living needs of local residents and realizing commodity exchange and circulation.Since modern times,the rural fair has become a link between the country and society,the city and the countryside,market and farmers.At present,as a "characteristic town" in minority areas,it has become a model for the country to promote the overall development of urban and rural areas and implement the strategy of rural revitalization.Through combing the developmentand changes of Xizhou bazaar in the past 100 years to reflect the economic and social changes in the ethnic border areas and to reflect on the promotion and influence of state policies on the rural economic and social transformation in ethnic minority areas.The purpose is to provide a typical case for the construction of "characteristic town" in minority areas.In this paper,the author uses the method of ethnology field investigation to conduct interviews with experts and scholars,businessmen and hawkers,foreign tourists and other residents of Xizhou and obtain more interview materials.Meanwhile,the author has also conducted interviews with small retailer in Xizhou and participated in the festival temple fair and collected the materials of their economic lives.On this basis,the author has described the process development and change of Xizhou bazaar and discovered the close relationship between socioeconomic development and nation policy.
