Restrict Sb.'s Activities To A Designated Area:Prison Inmates Become 'Law-abiding Citizens' In The Community

Community correction is a way of execution as opposed to imprisonment correction.It refers to a criminal who has a relatively light crime,a small subjective malignancy and a small social harmfulness,or a criminal who has been reformed through regulatory reform,has a true repentance performance and does not harm to the society.The special state organs put such kind of criminals in the community,with the assistance of elevant social groups or organizations and social volunteers.During the period of judgement,This execution of a non-custodial sentence rectify criminals'psychology&behaviour and to promote theirs smooth return to society.As a foreign word originating in the west,the idea of community correction can be traced back to the socialization thought of the execution of the modern school in the late 19th century.It fully integrates the dual value of punishments and restorative punishment.And it is an advanced legal practice that complies with the development trend of law and is in line with international standards.Since 2003,the pilot work of community correction has been carried out in China.Up to now,a total of 3 million 710 thousand community correction personnel have been accepted,3 million 10 thousand people have been successfully corrected,and 700 thousand people are still being corrected,accounting for 1/3 of the total number of prisoners(including in prison and outside the prison).However,despite the huge number,the awareness of community correction in the real society is very low.Therefore,this design will focus on the community correction system,by comprehensive using literature research method,in-depth interview and participation observation,I will take the earliest pilot project of Zhejiang Province as an example and visit Hangzhou city(Shangcheng District,Gongshu District,Yuhang District),Ningbo Beilun,Zhuji Fengqiao,Taizhou Yuhuan and other places.I will contact with the community correction objects,the correction staff,the social forces of the parties involved in the correction and the experts and scholars.I try to present the status of community correction in our country for last 14 years with a serious of in-depth reports.
