The Perting village is located in Bentong,Malaysia. It is a Chinese village.Since 80% of its population is from Guangxi,it is known as the “Village of Guangxi”.Today,Guangxi ethnic Chinese in Perting village have a diverse dietary customs. They are inheriting Guangxi's traditional diet such as “Guangxi Sanbao”,the traditional cake and the love of breakfast for flour. They are also following Chinese culture, for instance, the use of chopsticks, hospitality for guests, traditional festivals and the dietary rituals in festivals.Meanwhile, they are accustomed to adding pandan leaves to food, using metal spoons and metal forks and mixing Chinese and Western teas.It can be seen that they have absorbed and learned from Malaysian culture and Western culture.Changes in eating habits are influenced by both natural environment and social environment. However, whether it is inheriting Chinese traditional dietary customs or absorbing other ethnic groups' diets,it is a manifestation of cultural identities of Guangxi ethnic Chinese.
