Since the 1990s,with the development of the Internet, the development of academic publishing has gradually shifted from paper to the Internet. This was supposed to give academics greater and easy access to research from around the globe.Indeed the very form of the academic periodical was to insure the rapid and ongoing dissemination of academic knowledge. However, there exists a basic contradiction between the goals of the users of academic publishing and the publishing house. That is to say while the raison d'etre of publishing is for the spread of academic knowledge, publishing houses profit through restricting access.Due to the control of the market of the academic publishing network electronic periodicals by commercial publishers, the users and researchers cannot fully enjoy the advantages of the electronic periodicals.Indeed the publishers profit most by using the low cost of production for electronic periodicals and high selling price to gain the most profit possible. The question then is how to allow the users to obtain periodical content in the shortest time and for the lowest cost. This has become the subject of research for a lot of libraries and researchers. The answer given by a lot of research into this field is Open access.Open access provides a new way for academic publishing. One of the important strategies of open access;"self archiving mode" can spread the works of copyright owners in a short time while controlling costs. This plays an important role in the research of academic development and the exchange of information. In the self-archiving model, academic works can be transmitted and acquired without the limitations of time and place nor consideration towards the economic condition. It not only reduces the cost of academic communication and communication, but also helps to eliminate the information gap and improve the efficiency of scientific research.Self-archiving,known as the "green road",is only one way of opening access.Another way is "golden path"-Open Access Periodicals. That is the principle of"payment by the author, free for users." However, this method is problematic for those who have limited funding and yet still want to spread their work in a wide range,be recognized, and improve their academic reputation. For these people, the "green road"is the better choice. So,as long as the Internet exists, will the future for self-archiving be bright? In fact, there are various obstacles in the way of self-archiving.The biggest obstacles are copyright issues. In the process of self-archiving,what is the form of interest inlaid between the author, the publisher, the public and the institutional repository? What is the form of the conflict of interest, and how to find solutions to alleviate the balance of interest conflicts? These questions are the focus of this article. The full text is divided into 5 parts. It introduces the development, status and classification of the self-archiving model, analyzes the conflict table of copyright interests and the causes of its formation, and puts forward the corresponding solutions for reference. The first part summarizes the background and significance of this study, content innovation, and the development and research status of self-archiving in China and globally. The second part explains the concept, type and relationship of self-archiving,and analyzes the characteristics of self-archiving,including the complexity of copyright protection, the use of self-archived works, and the ownership of the copyright of the self-archived works. The third part summarizes the conflict of interests between four groups;the author and the organization, the author and the publisher, the author and the user, and the institution and the publisher in the existing self-archiving model. The fourth part analyzes the conflicts of interest in the third part, and analyzes the causes of these conflicts based on the existing legal policy background and authorization mode. The fifth part is based on the existing copyright laws and regulations from the institutional repository, the user, the author and other angles respectively. For the self-archiving process, how to effectively alleviate the conflicts and contradictions of interests between the parties. It is also suggested that all parties can cooperate actively through the amendment of the contract or agreement to achieve mutually beneficial and mutually beneficial results.
