The "cross-fire reactor" was once a folk custom that spread all over the land of China and was extremely influential to the people. It was also an important part of traditional Chinese culture. However, due to various reasons, its influence gradually weakened and the number of participants decreased year by year.Through the literature search, scholars found that the "cross-fire reactor," which is rapidly disappearing, and has the value of collecting, preserving, and recording "folk folk cultural relics",mostly recorded only its surface cultural symbols, and lacked deep attention and research. The custom of"crossing the fire" in Lanzhou City in the northwest is still preserved. It is one of the representatives of China's "cross-fired" folk culture and has strong local characteristics. The paper takes the Lanzhou "cross-fire reactor" ceremony as a cultural issue for research, and uses field surveys, supplemented by literature surveys and in-depth observation interviews,to carry out in-depth and systematic cultural geographical distribution, origin, ritual scene and symbolic significance.Description and analysis.Through this micro-description of the rituals, social support, and changes in this civic activity, the changes in society are reflected, and a comprehensive perspective is adopted to explain the social significance behind the "cross-fire" ritual.Innovation of the paper:Through the literature search,I found that the research on the Lanzhou "cross-fire reactor" ritual, which is worthy of discussing folk activities,is very rare.It is mostly used as an introduction to folklore. Therefore,in this paper,I conducted a systematic study of the origin, cultural and geographical distribution, ritual scenes and symbolic significance, social significance, and changes of the "Crossfire" ritual, filling in the gaps in the study of this activity.
