The German philosopher Cassirer believes that man is an animal of symbols,and all cultures of human society are created by mankind using the tool of symbols.Semiotic theory advocates studying all disciplines and phenomena from the perspective of symbols.In general,the symbols we now refer to are any objects that can be used to represent other things in certain aspects,are external forms of information or material carriers,and cultural symbols refer to long-term historical development.The condensed marking of cultural resources that have been precipitated by a nation,a country,or a region for a long time is the essence of the material and spiritual cultures of a nation,country,or region.It reflects the spiritual,material,and intellectual characteristics of a particular society or social group.A series of qualities such as emotions.In other words,any cultural form can be represented by certain cultural symbols.Cultural symbols are abstract expressions of cultural forms or cultural phenomena.The Dai is a nation that has a long history of cross-border living.In the long history of development,influenced by many factors such as politics,history,and culture,the Dai people both at home and abroad have displayed a group image of diligence,courage,peace,cleanliness,and kindness.As far as the current situation is concerned,peacock dances,peacock,Songkran,mirage,elephants,and cucurbits are the cultural symbols of the Dai people that are currently recognized by the public.Under careful consideration,it is not difficult to find that the folk cultural symbols in the public’s field of vision are actually in the epitome of their ethnic image,and there is a certain degree of correlation between ethnic cultural symbols and ethnic cultural images.As a cultural symbol of Dai society,cockfighting is a traditional social and cultural activity with a long history and important social status.Through the detailed description of the origin of the fighting chicken,the historical legend of the Dai fighting chicken,the present situation of the Dai cockfighting and the participation of the crowd in the fighting of the cockfighting,the article highlights the cultural characteristics expressed in the activities of the cockfighting and the cultural idiosyncrasy of the two people in the Dai’s previous cultural symbols.The contradiction between cultural identitiesexpressed in cultural symbols and the use of symbolic interaction theory to analyze how ethnic cultural symbols with typical representation of the Dai ethnic group are constructed in the process of interaction between parties,thus revealing The construction of the national cultural symbols in the public view and the complex and multifaceted nature of the real national cultural symbols.The in-depth study of the symbols of ethnic cultures helps to break the blemishes of the existing impressions and inspire people to look at the national culture from a new perspective.This helps to update people’s existing ideas and inspire people to use more objective,fair,and developmental Look at the national culture;at the same time,promote the sustained and healthy development of the national culture.
