A Study On The Living Conditions Of Labor Migrants In Ningxia

This paper focuses on the living conditions of labor migrants.Taking Xinmin community in Xinghai town of Dawukou District of northern Ningxia as a case,this paper uses anthropological field investigation,literature research and questionnaire survey to obtain first-hand information.This paper makes a comparison of the employment situation and the change of income level in the early and present labor migration,and analyses the main difficulties faced by the social and cultural life of the community residents and the sustainable development of labor migrants,and then puts forward the path choice for the sustainable development of labor migrants.The author draws the following conclusions:First,the labor migrants in recent years were mainly based on odd jobs,and the income was low and unstable.With the increase of family population,the living conditions have not been improved significantly.Second,due to the fact that the household registration problem has not been properly solved,it has not enjoyed the same treatment as urban residents in terms of health care and pension.Such factors as low education level,lack of labor skills,backward ideas and limited social interaction also restrict the improvement of the living standard of labor migrants.Third,the government should take full consideration of the demands of the migrant group in the process of policy making and implementation,and promote the participation of the masses in policy making and implementation,so that they can truly integrate into this project of vital interest and achieve participatory development.Fourth,a scientific and reasonable social division of labor is conducive to social unity,therefore,the government departments should play a coordinated role in it,actively build a reasonable social division of labor,eliminate and resolve various social contradictions caused by the unreasonable social division of labor,and promote the organic unity of the labor migrants group and the whole society.Fifth,put forward the path of sustainable development of labor migrants.Migrant groups themselves should strive to transform their ideas,improve their labour skills,be brave in accepting new things,and face the new life environment with a more optimistic attitude.The government departments should continue to improve and implement the labor migration policy,improve the quality of the vocational skills training projects,improve the employment of labor migration and increase the employment,realize the sustainable development of labor migration and resettlement areas,and build a harmonious society together.
