Xinjiang's multi-ethnic and multi-religious environment has caused great differences among ethnic cultures in xinjiang. The research shows that the possibility of social collision is great when the cultural difference is large, and one of the effective means of reducing the collision is the strengthening of the residents' legal consciousness.Due to the lack of data in Xinjiang residents' legal consciousness and the reality of the network society today, with the aid of network voluntary sample data, this thesis will use the Likert scale, using describing statistical analysis and structural equation,to measure Xinjiang residents' legal consciousness. The thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1,introduction,mainly includes research background and significance, literature review at home and abroad, research ideas and methods,in order to lay the foundation for the subsequent chapters.Chapter 2,the acquisition of the legal consciousness data of Xinjiang residents, mainly includes the implementation of its investigation, the design of the investigation and the test of reliability and validity of the questionnaire;Based on the existing literature, this paper intends to obtain data from 3 dimensions, the respondents' recognition degree, awareness and practice degree, thus laying a quantitative foundation for measuring the legal consciousness level of Xinjiang residents.Chapter 3,the measurement of the legal awareness of Xinjiang residents, mainly includes descriptive analysis and cross analysis of the first-hand scale data which is uesd to measure the level of legal consciousness of them.Chapter 4 analyzes the influential factors of residents' legal consciousness in Xinjiang. This chapter mainly uses the structural equation model to reveal the Xinjiang residents' awareness degree, recognition degree and practice degree's effects to their legal awareness level.Chapter 5 includes the conclusion and the revelation, which is based on the research results, and put forward relevant suggestions.By using the measure tool “Mark of yes or no”,the study shows that the legal awareness level of Xinjiang residents is composed of three dimensions: the legal awareness, recognition and practice degree; In general, the respondents thought that the legal consciousness of Xinjiang residents is low,and the proportion of high legal consciousness is less than 38%.According to the three dimensions,Xinjiang residents' legal awareness degree is the lowest, and the proportion of high legal awareness is less than 25%.Xinjiang residents' legal recognition degree is the highest, and the proportion of high recognition reaches 75%.Further studies showed that Xinjiang residents' legal consciousness and its three measuring dimensions are influenced by residents' natural and social characteristics such as gender, age, education background. It is worth noticing that 26-35 years old group's legal consciousness is the lowest, respondents with low educational background believed that they had a stronger sense of legal system.By using structural equation of measuring tool, the study shows that Xinjiang residents' law practicing degree influences their legal consciousness the most, which reaches 64.81%(the direct effects of awareness degree and recognition degree have been removed).Recognition degree influences it the least, which reaches 11.57%.The law practicing degree is the direct effect to the residents' law consciousness, which reaches 100%.The awareness degree and the recognition degree on residents' legal consciousness in Xinjiang are esteemed indirect effects, among them the awareness degree is the most influential indirect factor. The law awareness degree's indirect effects are mainly caused by what the recognition and the practicing degree caused to their law consciousness.
