Global Governance And China's Role Positioning

With the rapid development of the world economy,there has been a profound change in the global political and economic structure.On the one hand,the strength of traditional Western countries such as the United States relatively declines;on the other hand,China has performed well in such areas as foreign trade,investment,and finance.Especially in the 21 st century when China became the world's second largest economy,the pace of China's revival has been accelerating,the depth and breadth of integration into the international system has deepened,and China's global influence has become more and more strong,and the desire for redistribution of interests,powers and roles brought about by the rise.As a result that confidence and dynamism of China's participation in global governance has increased as never before.At the same time,the global governance system that maintains global development faces various governance difficulties.In particular,fragmentation and inefficiency of governance mechanisms have brought challenges to global development.Under this situation,the reform of the global governance system has become the consensus of major countries in the world.As a large developing country,China must participate in the reshaping of the global governance system,safeguard its own interests in the process of remolding,and lay the great power status of China.From the perspective of China's participation in global governance,China's governance role has experienced a transition from rejecting resisters to some participants,some participants to active participants,and then to builders,but it still faces the difficulties such as “Chinese people's lack of understanding of participation in global governance”,“developed countries hold the right to global governance” and “governance issues such as the confrontation of political interests among major powers” and so on.In the face of these difficulties,China can only adopt the new methods proposed by President Xi Jinping like “establishing new ideas and concepts for global governance”,“actively promoting the diplomatic principles of negotiation,cooperation,and sharing”,“actively building a new type of great power relations”,“Relying on various governance actors” and “providing appropriate public goods”.Such wisdom can help China truly participate in global governance and definite the role of active participant,builder,reformer,and contributor to global governance in the process of participation,and eventually become truly world power.
