The aging problem has been being a hot topic in the academic circle.Active aging characterized by its comprehensive and balanced idea has been being recognized by more and more countries, goverments and social unions. There has been a basic research framework on active aging. On the basis of theoretical analysis, quantitative researches represented by European active aging index is also developing vigorously.Relatively speaking, although academic circles of China has made a series of achievements, many researches mainly focus on qualitative researches and quantitative researches focus on small scale studies on specific provinces and cities, lacking comparative studies about different provinces and a complete set of active aging measurement tools. This paper firstly indicates the development process of active aging and compare the research contents of active aging at home and abroad.Secondly,on the basis of theoretical analysis, this paper summarizes the general influencing factors and unique cultural factors of active aging, captures the most representative feature in east Asian culture-intergenerational support as an independent variable, and uses the IV-Probit model to empirically test the positive influence of intergenerational support on active aging.Thirdly,According to the factors of active aging, this paper attempts to establish the China's active aging index system from employment, social participation, independent, healthy, safe life, active aging environment and ability these four domains, further measure the level of active aging in different areas of China. The results reveal that the development of active aging in China is uneven, showing a trend of "high in the east and low in the west";the level of active aging in urban and rural areas is significantly different, male active aging level is higher than that of women, and the gap is gradually widened with age.Based on the different development characteristics of different regions and provinces, targeted active aging development strategies should be adopted:the eastern region should promote the full-scale social participation of the aging population and enrich the material and spiritual life of the elderly;the central region should integrate regional resources to meet the employment needs of the elderly and increase their potential;the western region should pay more attention to the living conditions of the elderly population, improve the social support system, and develop community care services. At the same time, efforts should be made to reduce the gender gap in employment and to improve health and economic status of older women, improve living security in rural areas;in addition,China should comprehensively raise the level of active aging in rural areas, especially the living security of elderly people.
