An Analysis Of China's Modern Coastal Defense Thoughts From The Perspective Of Geopolitics

China is a typical land and sea complex country in terms of geographical composition.Ancient China also had very rich Marine practices,but the focus of Chinese defense in the past dynasties was to deal with the nomadic minorities from the north.Since modern times the western powers have repeatedly invaded China from the sea and the Chinese nation has faced an unprecedented survival crisis.In order to cope with the aggression of foreign enemies,safeguard the survival of the nation,and safeguard the security of the sea border,the thought of coastal defense came into being and the modern Chinese navy was established.However,in the actual practice of coastal defense,the thought of coastal defense failed to transform into the thought of maritime power,which finally led to the failure of coastal defense construction.Therefore,if China wants to realize the strategy of becoming a maritime power and the goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,it must learn from history and face the future.From geopolitical theory perspective,this paper to the modern China's coastal defense thought has carried on the detailed and thorough analysis,and mainly study from the following four aspects: first,put forward by traditional heavy lu light sea concept in modern China and order policy of Ming and qing dynasties,the influence of the resulting in the insufficient understanding of Marine important role,banned the sea.After the opium war,several invasions from the western powers on the sea made "the whole world talk about coastal defense",and coastal defense and Marine consciousness gradually awakened.Then introduce the main content of China's modern thought of coastal defense,including coastal defence strategy,three aspects of the navy and cultivate talents of the modernization construction,and mainly through the analysis of the traditional agricultural civilization and the modern concept of sea power conflict and the contradiction between absolute monarchy and the navy modernization construction and the dilemma of sea power and land power facing practical difficulties,from which to draw profound lessons from history is the Chinese modern maritime force always put their own target is limited to the lowest level-defending national haikou haiphong.If the coastal defense cannot be based on the control of sea power,the result can only be passive defense and being beaten passively.If it cannot be controlled by the sea,it will be controlled by the sea.This also confirms the iron law of the development of the navy: if it does not take the initiative to attack,it can only sit and wait to be killed.Finally,it is emphasized that we should go to the sea firmly,establish the sense of maritime rights,insist on the overall planning of land and sea,and accelerate the construction of a maritime power while maintaining the continental power.
