Is Political Correctness Incorrect?

Donald Trump as an anti-establishment has inaugurated a new phase of antipolitical correctness in the 2016 presidential election,which played a decisive role in his final nomination.The tendency of anti-political correctness swept across Europe from the United States and nowadays becomes a hot issue in the whole western world.Through a deep exploration of the concept political correctness,combined with the 2016 presidential election,the author of this thesis attempts to analyze the cultural backlash and a divide in the spheres of economy,politics,and culture manifested by political correctness.The author intends to prove that political correctness is a concept of validity,the implementation of which should be in harmony with the development of economy and politics.The first chapter will present the evolutionary process about how political correctness stirred up in the 2016 presidential election.The second chapter will illustrate the growing economic inequality and political conflicts to show a divide in economy and politics along with the implementation of political correctness.The third chapter will deal with the relationship between political correctness and American basic values.In conclusion,the notion of political correctness is in line with the pursuit of the core spirit of the American Constitution,but the implementation of which goes extreme to develop into radical egalitarianism and creates a new type of inequality namely reverse discrimination in practice.The cultural backlash against the abuse of political correctness showed a greater divide among culture,economy,politics.This thesis attempts to reflect the current tendency of anti-political correctness and urge the public to critically think about political correctness for pursuit of its cultural bond in society.
