U.S. political scholar Almond first raised the concept of political culture. Since then, political culture study has become an important analytical tool for numerous political researchers. Indeed, from the view of the mutual relationship between political culture and political system, the creation and development of the political system should be in line with its political culture space within. Similarly, the political system construction in particular political culture space will have an impact on that cultural space. Therefore, considering the influence on the political culture development from the perspective of the system construction and thus reflecting the research on the system construction direction have a great importance. Now in China in the research on the villager autonomy, many scholars explain the issue from the political culture point of view. These fruitful research results provide a new field to improve the villager autonomy system. Selecting a typical village as a case based on the previous studies, the author of this paper attempts to make independent analysis on the relationship between the case's political culture space and political system construction by way of empirical investigation. This paper is divided into five parts. The introduction part raises the origin of this research, introduces the related research results in the academic field, and defines key concepts. Under the basic framework of "system construction - political culture", this paper contends that the current villager autonomy construction leads to two levels of rural political culture, namely, the surging of the villager consciousness and the training of the civic awareness. Meantime both levels also bring a series of feedbacks to the system construction, thus setting up the all-around analytical framework. Chapter 1 to Chapter IV introduces the basic situations of case town villagers on their political recognition, political sentiment, political attitude, and their basic capacity to participate in the politics, makes analysis and draws corresponding conclusions. In the conclusion part of Chapter V, the author stats that there are clear layers of political culture space brought by the town's system construction of village election, and there is a contest of power between villager consciousness and civic awareness. The author also makes some suggestions on system construction based on the characteristics shown in the political culture of the case town.
