The diplomatic negotiations between Britain and Egypt from 1946 to 1954 as a result of the revision of the 1936 Anglo-Egyptian Treaty exerted a significant influence on the realization of independence and decolonization of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan subsequently. The struggle between Britain and Egypt during the negotiations on "the sovereignty of the Sudan" ended with the failure of both parties eventually. As a "third party" in the Anglo-Egyptian negotiations and in the process of decolonization of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, the United States,on account of the Middle East Security and its strategic interests in the Middle East, has decisively intervened in the Sudan issue when the Anglo-Egyptian negotiations reached a deadlock, and successfully promoted the settlement of the issue.By means of the intervention of the postwar Anglo-Egyptian negotiations on the Sudan issue, the United States successfully achieved its strategic goal of infiltrating its forces into the Middle East and laid the foundation for its subsequent intervention in the Middle East affairs and the colonial affairs of the European powers, which exerted a significant influence on the balance of power in the Middle East and the historical development of the colonies in the postwar period.
