A Study On The Relationship Between Egypt And Saudi Arabia In The New Century

The relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is an important part among the relationship between the countries in the Middle East.Using the methods of literature researches and comparative studies,the dissertation mainly discusses the relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the new century.The dissertation consists of the preface,the main body and conclusion.The preface describes briefly the research value and significance,research situations at home and abroad of the selected topic,the main problems,ideas,methods and innovations of the research.The main body consists of three parts.The first part reviews the relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia before and after Mubarak in power,and the sustainable development of their mutual relationships in various areas like political,economic and counter-terrorism ones in the 2000 s.The next part discusses the new trend of relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia under the influence of the changes on their respective domestic circumstances after the upheavals in the Middle East.The third part emphatically contrasts and analyzes the new characteristics of the relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the new century,and the domestic and abroad factors that influence the change of the relationship.This dissertation holds that the relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia is an important element of the international relations in the Middle East and profoundly affect the trend of the situation in the Middle East.Both countries have adjusted their foreign policies during the upheaval in the Middle East in the new century,which has had an impact on relationship between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.Egypt needs a friendly and generous Saudi Arabia to help him out.At the same time,Saudi Arabia also needs a stable and prosperous Egypt.Pragmatism and opportunism will continue dominating Egypt's realistic politics and foreign policy in a highly volatile situation throughout the Middle East.Although Egypt and Saudi Arabia still have divergences on certain regional issues,the trend towards friendly relations between the two countries will not change unless major changes take place in Egypt or the Gulf.
