Factors Influencing Citizen's Attitude And Intention To Adopt E-Government Services Moderating Effect Of E-Government Trust

In the recent decades,the business world has perceived the convergence of two powerful and long-term tendencies:economies are moving from goods to services,and the quick development of the electronic networks and information technology economies.This development has set rise to the era of "e-service".Due to the emergence of e-Government services,scientists and researchers are interested to understand how e-servicing impacts on citizen's life,their satisfaction,their service quality opportunities,and how this knowledge moves to better frameworks for the provision of e-service.The present study was conducted to investigate the factors influencing the adoption of e-Government services by the citizens of Pakistan and the overseas Pakistani citizens.The study was mainly done in the forms of surveys(questionnaire)from the people of Pakistan,and overseas citizens of Pakistan from China and Turkey.The questionnaire was designed that was based from the published studies and comprised of existing measurement scale that had been described by previous studies.A final sample size of 650 respondents was used for further analysis.Structural equation modelling(SEM)was used for the quantitative research.Based on this sample size the further study was proceed and proposed factors(based on this study)were discussed.Different factors were analyzed in questionnaire such as gender,employment sector,age,and experience with e-Government,education and Use of e-Government.The results showed that age group were ranged from as follows;<20 year(8.3%),21-30 years(37%),31-40 years(30.23%)41-50 years(17.53%)and over 50 years were 6.6%indicating the average age groups have the motivation to use e-Government services.The results of gender showed that 80%men and 20%women were intended to use the e-Government suggesting high percentage of male user.In addition to this,the percentage of participants was higher in overseas regarding the usage of e-Government suggesting the dominancy of usage in overseas citizens.The results of education level show that most of the people were educated and especially overseas citizens were used to adopt e-Government services.Howev er,the results of adoption showed that very few(5.65%)people were expert in the adoption of e-Government.The expertise of e-Government was at initial stage and there is a need to encourage the adoption of e-Government.The results for proposed hypothesis revealed that there is direct positive association between values and effort expectations.The use of e-Government in citizen should be encouraged.Moreover,the effort expectancy had a significant impact on user's perceptions regarding the use of e-Government.It also highlights that if the system is easy to use,there is positive attitude of user towards the adoption of e-Government.In addition to this,performance expectancy has also positive effect on the user attitude indicating the usefulness of e-Government among the citizens.Furthermore,the relationship between perceived usefulness and intentional behavior regarding the use of e-Government was found to be positive.In the last hypothesis,the results indicate that positive/negative beliefs of users about the trust structure have influenced their perception in terms of adoption of e-Government.The findings revealed that people do not have trust on government and perceived that personal information could be misused.The results of the study showed that the positive/negative belief of users in the trust structure significantly affects their perception of the use of e-Government services,although the Government provides all the necessary measurement measures to be safeThe study satisfied the research objectives by means of examining the factors and successfully evaluated the key concerning factors.In conclusion,there are several challenges regarding the adoption of e-Government among the citizens of Pakistan such as technical barriers including lack of shared standards,infrastructure,departments and agencies.Trust is most important factor regarding the adoption of e-Government.There is great need to encourage the people to build up the trust among the citizen to adopt the e-Government services.People are still conscious about privacy and security of data.In addition to this,organizational barriers are also key concerns along with top management support.There is great need to create awareness among the citizens and to promote the adoption of electronic ways.In recommendation,there is need of collaboration among the private and public sectors and needs to promote the qualified personnel and trainings.All the recommendations and future prospective discussed in this study can be a potential source to promote the adoption of e-Government in Pakistan and this study can be helpful for policy makers to overcome the deficiencies regarding the adoption of e-Government.
