Transparency in government has enticed much research from different levels to which transparency quality and context is improved.Through theoretical highlights and analysed survey from Ghana, this research contributes to the continual debate of transparency and further assesses how government can establish confidence in the Ghanaian citizens to trust their daily operations. In another approach, the research summarised concepts in the literature and proposed six distinct dimensions to contribute to transparency indicators that address transparency enhancement in areas of public accountability, service delivery, urban and rural development, government effectiveness, and social media use as a platform for the disclosure of information. However, the proposed dimensions addressed satisfactorily in terms of providing information that citizen and potential users of government information need to hear, enhances services to citizens and also influence citizens trust.Furthermore, empirical results from Ghana validated the proposed model for accuracy and examined how these variables vary according to how frequent citizens agitate for enhancement in the proposed areas.Empirical results supported the research hypothesis and indicated a good fit of dimensions and acceptable loadings on each aspect.Findings on the analysis showed a significant prediction of the use of social media to communicate with citizens by all aspects to influence trust in their government. The study suggests that most citizens would instead prefer information from the proposed dimensions communicated through social media use in government to reach the majority of the citizens.
