Role Of NGOs In Nation Building Of South Sudan(2011-2018)

This thesis will illustrate the role of NGOs in Nation building of south Sudan in 2011-2018.The term NGOs stands for Non-Governmental Organization the work is to fill the gap in the functions of the government,for the welfare of the people or the society in South Sudan.The process of improvement is not only limited to the economic growth and prosperity among the people but it has also implies the growth and inclusion of few other significance factors.Furthermore,it will show that NGOs were playing an important role in south Sudan in term of promoting citizens' welfare in nation building of South Sudan and improving the capacity building and social welfare.The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization(CEPO),its main work is to promote education goals or educational programs in order to educate the children who have dropped out from school or never enrolled and also promotion of livelihood that encompass agriculture,fishery,livestock,water and sanitation,agrarian,agro-pastoral and fisher folk to communities in Juba and Terekeka,Central Equatoria State through building the production and capacity building for the farmer associations and sustainable management of natural resources including land and water in the community level.NGOs have been improving the capacity building and collaboration with government in promoting services delivery in nation building of South Sudan in term of health care awareness,service utilization,TB control and in addition to that NGOS have been responding for rapid humanitarian aid at a time of crisis for example,in 2013 the world humanitarian summit marked watershed moment as 15 major donors committed to channel 25% of humanitarian funding or aid to national and local organizations.This grand(Bargain)acknowledged that the humanitarian deficit or quality combined with an increase the number and severity of crisis requires a new approach to humanitarian response.This thesis will also seek to answer the research questions: what is the role of NGOs in promoting Nation building of South Sudan 2011-2018? From this research question: this conduct of the role of NGOs in Nation building of South Sudan 2011-2018 has play a crucial role in raising public awareness of promoting actions for the promotion of the certain values,ideas and actions.In general,NGOs and social government need to explain themes they work on and the activities they pursue to the society,the information they produce is instrumental and has a purpose to improve the quality lives of the people.This study will show how the role of NGOs in Nation building of South Sudan can help the nation for a long time.In attempting to fulfill the significance of the studies realizes that the term NGOs stands for Non-Governmental Organization in promoting people from advocacy of the poor to the implementers of government programs from agitators or critics to partners and advisors.And also that the role of NGOs in Nation building of South Sudan.The NGOs can help South Sudan along time path for peace and prosperity in order to promote humanitarian assistance to improve services delivery,promotion of human rights,good governance,promote capacity building in government institutions on the other hand the major role of NGOs can help the government in accountability and exposing corruption in the government institutions.The study established that the NGOs groups in South Sudan have an increasing capacity of development during the war time and the Diasporas experience it is highly concentrated among the young.NGOs playing an important and effective role in peace building in South Sudan during all states of conflict and has contributed positively to the peace building process.The NGOs groups in South Sudan have contributed effectively to the settlement and the facilitation of the peace process.And also this study will show the prior to 2013,foreign governments and institutional donors provided large sums of development aid to the government of South Sudan and to international and national organizations.When the crisis hit in December 2013,the UN emergency coordination mechanisms were already in place and the NGOs community transitioned in to a full scale emergency response.NGOs engage in peace building participatory planning exercises,conflict analysis,mapping,transformation,and gender-focused analytical framework.In seeking to study this subject,this research adopts the role of NGOs in Nation Building in South Sudan(2011-2018)used to find understanding that what are the achievements of NGOs in promoting citizen welfare in nation building of South Sudan since 2011-2018,and also the challenges and problems that NGOs are facing over the period in South Sudan.Furthermore,to understand how national and international dynamics have impact on peace conflict,how and why South Sudan separation to need nation building.The thesis includes 5 chapters.Chapter one introduces background of research,research questions,argument,literature review and methodology.Chapter two discusses background of Major NGOs in South Sudan,Community Empowerment for Progress Organization,and Red Cross organization,and CSOs/CBOs and Faith-Based Organization-led Peace and Reconciliation Efforts,and Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency-PRDA.Chapter three discusses the achievement of NGOs in Nation Building of South Sudan 2011-2018.3.1 Role of NGOs in promotion services delivery in Nation Building of South Sudan.3.2 Role of NGOs in promotion citizens in Nation Building of South Sudan.Chapter four discuss challenges of NGOs in nation building of South Sudan.4.1 problems in Accessing Humanitarian Aid in time of Crisis.4.2 Problems in coordination with authority of South Sudan.Chapter five the study research conclusion,recommendations and summarize the previous chapters,the initial question purpose of this thesis and seek to explore,the role of NGOs help a Nation building of South Sudan with peace and prosperity and it was promoted humanitarian assistance.The term NGOs stands for Non-Governmental Organization and their work is to fill the gaps in the function of government,for the welfare of the people or the society in South Sudan,and their improvement is not only limited to the economic growth and prosperity among the people but it also implies the growth and inclusion of few other significance factors.
