A Study Of Turkey's Erdogan Government's Policy Towards China

Since the official establishment of diplomatic relationships between China and Turkey in 1971,the economy and culture has been promoted,and this increase the political trust,which leads the consequence of unprecedented development of two countries.At the same time there arouse some issues.In this case,Turkey's policy is one of the important factors that affect the development of relationship.After Erdogan selected as the prime minister of Turkey(2002),the favourable external environment helps him made great achievements in many fields and makes Turkey one of the important forces in the world economy.The Erdogan Government's Policy towards China directly serves Turkey's “big country dream”.On the one hand,the Erdogan government pursue the cooperation with China in politics,economy and security aspects to enhance its own strength and international influence.On the other hand,Erdogan government created many artificial obstacles for the development of two countries' relationship by ignoring the truth on some issues which concerning China's core interests.This shows the Erdogan government's duplicity toward the relationship between China.As an important "pivot" country,Turkey has responded positively since the "Belt and Road" initiative has been launched.It is very important to the effective development of “Belt and Road” initiative in Turkey that how China's government effectively maximizes the positive factors of Turkey's for China policy and avoids the unfavorable factors on which being the obstacle of the relationship between China and Turkey.This paper analyzes the development history of the Erdogan governments toward China,the background information of policy formulation,political purpose and content,and summarizes the existence of the Erdogan governments for China's policy,under the background of promoting "Belt and Road" initiative in China,and based on this formulating China's coping strategies in the context of Erdogan's policy toward China.Content of this research is divided into four parts.First part is introduction,which systematically expounds the research purpose and value,as well as the research achievements in domestic and foreign.Second part focuses on thebackground of the Erdogan governments toward China's policy and analyzes it's background,purpose of formulation.Third part mainly discusses the basic content and characteristics of the Erdogan governments for China policy.The fourth part is an in-depth analysis of the problems of the Erdogan governments toward China's policy and the leading factors affecting two countries' relationship,and also considers its countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the development of China-Turkey relationship.The study of the Erdogan governments toward China's policy has important implication for the development of China-Turkey relationship in new era.Furthermore,it also plays an active role in promoting cooperation between China and Turkey in multilateral arena.In the long run,China and Turkey should work together,respect each others cultures and seek for great opportunities for development,and contribute to the promotion of strategic cooperation between China and Turkey.
