Government trust is not only the basis of the effectiveness of government policies, but also the embodiment of the legitimacy of government governance and an important source of political stability and support.High government trust can enhance the authority of political subjects, consolidate political stability, and gain more support from the public, while Low government trust will lead to policy failure and social instability. In the report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed to implement the strategy of Rural Revitalization on the development of agriculture, countryside and farmers. As the main body of rural governance, farmers' trust in the government has a profound impact on the implementation process of Rural Revitalization strategy. Therefore, under the strategic background of rural revitalization,it is particularly important to study the government trust of farmers. For a long time, the "efficiency first" development strategy has created a miracle of China's economic development, and also constituted an important source of government credibility. However, ignoring the value benchmark of "fairness and justice" has led to many social problems in transitional China, and has reduced people's trust in the government. Therefore, people's perception of social equity is an important factor affecting government trust. At the same time, the changes of the times affect the concept of intergenerational.Because the public of different ages are at different stages of the time axis and experience different social and historical events, their perceptions of social justice will also vary, and then different generations of social justice will have different trust in the government. Therefore,in order to explore the impact of social fairness on farmers' trust in government and its specific intergenerational differences, based on the integration of life course theory and social justice theory, this paper uses CSS survey data in 2015 to analyze this issue from a diachronic perspective by empirical analysis. The study found that:(1)Social fairness has a significant positive impact on farmers' government trust. The stronger the sense of opportunity fairness and result fairness, the higher the level of farmers' government trust.(2)Farmers' sense of social fairness is decreasing from young group to old group from generation to generation.(3)Farmers' sense of government trust is decreasing from young group to old group from generation to generation.(4)Farmers' sense of social fairness among different generations has different time series on government trust. The influence of sense of opportunity fairness on government trust is increasing from generation to generation. As a result, the influence of sense of fairness on government trust is decreasing from generation to generation.According to the study,a high sense of social equity is conducive to improving farmers' trust in the government.Combining with their specific inter-generational differences, this paper proposes to strengthen institutional reform and innovation to promote the integration of urban and rural development. We should standardize the order of social income distribution, strengthen the adjustment of income gap, promote the equalization of basic public services, improve farmers' life satisfaction, strengthen the construction of government ruled by law,and enhance the governance capacity of local governments.
