When studying social inequality, people always pay attention to the irrational structure of wealth distribution and the gradual deterioration of income gap,but ignore the objective existence and influence of consumption inequality. The consumption distribution structure directly reflects the gap in the quality of life of residents, and the intensification of consumption inequality means that the basic life of the people at the bottom of the society is not guaranteed. In order to solve the development gap,the government generally implements social security projects to alleviate them. Therefore, this paper will analyze whether social security can alleviate consumption inequality from the perspective of social security. This study consists of five parts. The first part introduces the research background, research significance, research content, research methods, and innovations and deficiencies. The second part is a review of domestic and foreign literatures.Through comparative analysis methods, the measurement methods of consumption inequality are clarified, and the main influencing factors of consumption inequality are revealed. On this basis, the idea of analyzing social security affecting consumption inequality is preliminarily established. And perspective. The third part briefly expounds the characteristic facts and formation mechanism of China's current social security system and consumption inequality, points out that social security affects the objective existence of consumption inequality in urban and rural areas, and proposes that social security affects consumption inequality. The hypothesis is to extract the channels of consumption propensity, income redistribution channels, and labor supply channels that affect social security inequality.Based on the analysis of the impact mechanism and transmission channels, the fourth part uses CHFS data to identify the causal effects of social security on consumer inequality and its channels of action. The empirical results show that social security can effectively alleviate consumption inequality and present significant urban-rural differences and regional differences;and the role of the role in the poor group is stronger than that in the rich group.Further, the channel analysis based on the causal intermediary method shows that the positive effect of enhancing residents' consumption propensity and improving income redistribution is greater than reducing the negative effect of labor supply,so social security alleviates consumption inequality.Based on the above theoretical analysis and empirical research results, this paper proposes several measures to alleviate consumption inequality. The first is to enhance consumer confidence, improve residents' spending power, and help residents shape a correct and reasonable view of consumption. The second is to build a reasonable income distribution system to avoid the expansion of income gap caused by institutional injustice, thereby exacerbating consumer inequality; It is to form a scientific and reasonable social security system. On the one hand,it should establish a clear level of protection, distinguish the benefits of more workers and less workers, and on the other hand, pay attention to the differentiation of regional and urban and rural social security systems, and expand the coverage of social security.Ensure that the system is implemented in a refined manner.
