France,the world most popular destination,has experienced one of its murderous terrorist attacks on 7th of January 2015 and since then,a series of attacks occurred.All events were reported in the international media and had a negative effect on the flow of tourism into the country.The number of Chinese tourists in France dropped by 21%and France has found it difficult to attract Chinese tourists back after the string of violent attacks in the country in 2015 and 2016.By doing a quantitative survey,this study analyses the impact of terrorist attacks on their willingness to travel toFrance.The survey shows that even though the majority of respondents describe France as a romantic and elegant country,they are highly concerned about the safety factor.The threat of terrorists but also the number of thieves targeting Chinese tourists has brought a sense of insecurity that dissuade Chinese tourists to travel to France.This paper uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process with the point of view of different tourist experts in order to choose a suitable strategy for the case of France.According to the experts,the Chinese market is becoming more and more mature,and Chinese tourists want to experience more ethnic customs and culture;thus there is a need to expand new tourism products to adapt to changes in the Chinese market.Based on the opinion of the experts and the survey results,this paper argues that France should take safety measures to ensure potential tourists'safety and implement a marketing strategy such as creating new tourism products adapted to the Chinese market in order to protect and rebuild the attractiveness of France.
