The invention of networks and computers at the end of the twentieth century led us into the rapidly evolving era of network technology. On the one hand,it has brought profound changes to our political culture and education;on the other hand,it has changed our way of life. The development of the network and technology has brought us prosperity and broke the natural barrier of privacy protection given in space and time, making our life more "transparent".In this environment, people have to start paying attention to their own Privacy, especially for special groups like public figures.Public figures are based on their ability to attract attention and the natural curiosity of the public, which increases the likelihood of their privacy breaches.Due to the different speeds of economic development, beliefs and lifestyles,Western countries have a culture and laws that pay more attention to privacy. However, traditional Chinese thoughts are deeply rooted, and family relations with blood relationship as a link become one of the important ways to connect with society. Therefore,There is a slight lack of privacy protection. With the development of the world economy and technology interaction,it has promoted the improvement of our legal awareness to a certain extent, and of course,it has also affected people’s emphasis on privacy rights. However, for the vast majority of people,it is often not known that infringers have committed violations. At the legal level, there is also a lack of perfect systems and theories. Therefore, the author hopes to find a new method to protect the privacy of public figures by exploring the principle of reasonable expectation in the privacy of public figures, and hopes to attract the attention of relevant scholars and enrich the relevant theories in the field of maintaining privacy in China. The first chapter of this paper will introduce the related concepts and theories of public figures’ privacy and reasonable expectation principles. This chapter is the basis of the author’s entire article.By introducing the relevant theories of the principle of reasonable expectation of privacy in the United States,it leads to the necessity of drawing on this principle. The second chapter mainly introduces the conditions and problems in the application process. The rapid development of China’s network technology has affected the privacy rights of public figures to a certain extent, and the neglect of the principle of reasonable expectation by relevant scholars has hindered the privacy legislation process to a certain extent. The particularity of the public figures themselves makes it inevitable to conflict with the public interest when applying the principle of reasonable expectation of privacy. The third chapter hopes to find the inspiration for the protection of the privacy of public figures through extraterritorial experience and practice. The last chapter is a shallow idea that the author introduces the principle of reasonable expectation.Hope that to a certain extent,we will protect the privacy of public figures into the power.
