A Brief Study On The Institution Of Juvenile Recidivism Prevention Based On Social Support Theory

We are now live in an era in which the security gains more and more importance.Crime control is a key contributory factor of social harmony and stability.The juveniles,who are considered as the future of a nation,can be easily deviated by influence of comprehensive factors such as a bad living and educational circumstances flopping into the abyss of crime.As they are in a possession of immature body and mentality with a strong curiosity and poor self-control,they can hardly resist lures and are tend to act out.As a result,they are not dangerous and are remediable,the society should focus how to help them to correct them selves and keep them away from recidivism.So how to prevent and control juvenile crime,and give those juvenile criminals an appropriate treatment in order to let them show repentance and return to the society as soon as possible,is the concern of every conscious citizen of our planet.In the past three decades,China's juvenile crime prevention has made great achievements as well as the probation admonishing work,which mainly reflected in the continuously increasing in the uncaught rate of juvenile suspects,along with that of non-prosecution.Meanwhile however,the juvenile crime situation still has a long ride towards optimism,because China's current juvenile justice and crime prevention field mainly put emphasis on a crime prevention to one-time crimes,instead of enough attentions on the re-crime of the juvenile wrongdoings.As is an essential ring of the prevention chain,re-crime prevention has never abstained competent attention.It is such useful and urgent that we propose an effective and feasible preventive mechanism for juvenile delinquency to reduce the recidivism rate of it,improving the effectiveness of the current re-crime prevention system while promoting the social harmony.By the time social support is in an unhealthy or missing situation,both the material and spiritual needs of juveniles can not reach the satisfaction,which will lead to the motive and criminal behavior of re-crime.Most of the demands of minors in China are provided by their own social support,besides that juveniles are rebellious and disabled in their characteristic or moody aspect.Not yet do they form a complete world view,and when they lack sufficient social support,will they also cause the rebellion and tension.In order to vent such emotion,it is easy for a juvenile to be affected by external unhealthy behaviors again,making them more likely to enter the re-crime zone.Thus,the absence of adequate social support is also a direct or indirect factor of the re-crime among the youth.Currently in our country,there is no clear legislative or administrative orders in the form of making crime juvenile re-crime prevention mechanism,what is existing is only in the procurator organs as the core to establish the system of conditional non prosecution,juvenile probation admonishing system as well as the youth criminal record sealed system.With the purpose of facilitating comparison research,the three systems above are referred as juvenile re-crime prevention system.Through the real case analysis of the re-crime juveniles,we can find the re-crimes of juveniles shares the similarities in social support,evidence for analysis of problems through crimes of juveniles can be concluded partially as lacking,on which proposing suggestions for the crime juveniles' social support.Most intellectuals divide the social support system into too parts,the formal social support network and the informal social support network.The formal social support comes from the government and organizations while the informal social support comes from interpersonal relationships,such as family members,relatives,friends,coworkers,neighbours,etc.This text focus mainly on informal social support network,for example,family members,relatives and friends care about and show respect to the juveniles,especially when they are under pressure.For those juveniles who are in dilemma or in terrible two,the informal social support plays an important role in relieving stress and optimize adoption.Massive researches about social support shows that,emotional support works better than other types of support,in addition,it provides material support in study and living atmosphere for juveniles,which is essential for juveniles who are not independent economically.This essays uses three main investigation methods,the documentary study,the comparative method and the historical research,to analyze the social support problems of the juveniles criminals.After the analysis,it concludes the problems of social support supply existing in the current juvenile recidivism prevention system.Followed the conclusion is some suggestions to resolve the problems.At the same time,the article summarizes the successful trials and experience of some places in China and in some other countries,it gives an brief introduction of aforementioned experiences in order to give advise to the policy makers.This essay is divided into three parts,the first part is the first chapter of the essay,this part focuses on some definitions and brings a brief introduction to the current institution of juvenile recidivism prevention system.The second part is an analysis of the social support problem based on four juvenile recidivism examples.The third part contents the third and fourth chapter of the article is a dissection of the problems of social support supply of the current institution and an offer of suggestions and possible remedies.
