Study On The Problems And Countermeasures For Family Caregivers Of The Completely Incompetent Elderly

With the advent of the aging age in our country,the number of the elderly population has gradually increased.Due to the reduction of the body function and sudden illness of the elderly,many of them are in completely incompetent state.Influenced by our traditional concepts and social support level,more completely incompetent elderly still choose the mode of family support.Completely incompetent elderly need long-term care from family members.The past research paid more attention on completely incompetent elderly while less to their caregivers.Based on the theory of social support and the theory of demand level,taking the community in Tiexi District of Siping City as a study case,the paper focuses on the completely incompetent elderly family caregivers and analyzes the social support they received,the problems they encountered in work by using questionnaires and in-depth interviews and thus puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions.The paper argues that serious economic pressure,the physical and mental burden of lack of rest,the limited of care skills caused by the lack of access to professional care knowledge,and the limited social interaction of family caregivers caused by limited support from other family members are the plight of the family caregivers of the completely incompetent elderly.Countermeasures should be put forward in terms of making rational use of old-age care agency resources,giving full play to the role of the community,increasing the training ways of the professional knowledge and skills of the family caregivers,promoting the construction of the long-term care insurance system for the completely incompetent elderly,and encouraging other family members to assume care responsibilities.The thesis is divided into four parts.Chapter one,Preface,mainly expounds the research background,purpose,significance and related domestic and foreign research review,research methods,the definition of related concepts and the theoretical basis of this paper.Chapter two,through questionnaires and in-depth interviews,studies the status quo of family caregivers of the completely incompetent elderly in Zhan Qian Community of Tiexi District in Siping City.Chapter three,analyzes the problems and causes of family caregivers of the completely incompetent elderly.Chapter four,puts forward reasonable countermeasures for improving the problems faced by the family caregivers of the completely incompetent elderly.
