Firstly,according to the data of the Sixth Population Census,the population over 60 years old in China is 17764 8705,accounting for 13.26% of the total population.Among them,the population over 65 years old is 1188 31709,accounting for 8.87% of the total population.Compared with the Fifth National Population Census in 2000,the proportion of the population over 60 years old has increased by 2.93 percentage points,and the proportion of the population over 65 years old has increased by 1.91 percentage points.Point.With the acceleration of the aging process in China and the increasing complexity and difficulty of the aging problem,the whole society pays more and more attention to the aging problem.Secondly,with the rapid development of our economy and society,the traditional core family structure has gradually changed,the family size has become smaller and smaller,coupled with the change of modern life concept,most of the elderly and their children require space for self-life.It is in this context that a large number of elderly people living alone have emerged.As a prominent disadvantaged group,the elderly living alone are generally older,in poor physical condition,more lonely and more dependent on the community than the elderly of the same age.According to the survey,the proportion of loneliness among the elderly living alone in cities is as high as 26.4%,which indicates that about a quarter of the elderly living alone in cities need to be provided with loneliness relief and spiritual care.Due to solitude,lack of interpersonal communication and emotional support makes these elderly people prone to negative,depression,withdrawal and self-closure,as well as more lonely personality.These problems gradually bring difficulties and obstacles to the interpersonal communication of the elderly living alone in such cities.In the long run,this will not only affect their mental health,but also accelerate their physiological aging,leading to frequent occurrence of various physical and mental diseases.In addition,if these problems can not be found and solved in time,it will not only bring many negative impacts on their lives,but also hinder the process of active aging in our country.Social work for the elderly,as a special service for the elderly,is of great significance to alleviate the tense interpersonal relationship between the elderly and others and to enhance the potential of friendly interaction between the elderly and others.This paper is aimed at the investigation,service and research on the interpersonal communication dilemma of the elderly living alone in cities which are caused by irrational beliefs and need the intervention of social workers.In this paper,the author uses the opportunity of internship in Wuhan L Social Work Service Center to understand the social plight of the elderly,and intends to intervene with rational emotional therapy model.Firstly,the author investigates and analyses the basic situation of the old man L and points out the existing problems and irrational emotional analysis.Then,the author formulates the purpose and plan of this intervention according to the problem of the case-holder's interpersonal communication and his irrational beliefs.Then,as the key part of this paper,the author focuses on the application of rational emotional therapy in the social work of elderly cases.Finally,through the analysis and research of rational emotional therapy in the interpersonal dilemma of the elderly,this paper summarizes a set of effective programs,and reflects on the whole process of intervention.I hope that besides providing some practical reference for rational emotional therapy model in interpersonal problems of the elderly,I also hope to help more social workers.Understand the charm of social work and make a little effort for the development of social work practice for the elderly.
