Marx's Concept Of Equality And Its Contemporary Value

In the long history of development,the pursuit of equality is the common goal of human values.Marx's concept of equality,which originated in the 1840 s,critically inherited the positive achievements of the theory of equality in the development history of human thought and realized the revolutionary surmounting of the previous theory.As an open theory,it is constantly enriched and perfected with the development of society.Today's socialist modernization drived with Chinese characteristics is the only way and necessary link for mankind to achieve true equality.This paper first discusses the social and historical conditions and ideological and theoretical sources of Marx's concept of equality.It holds that Marx's concept of equality is the reality of the development of capitalist society,especially the result of critical reflection on the intensification of the basic contradiction of capitalist society,and the theoretical prejudgment for the realization of proletarian liberation and the realization of the real equality of all mankind.Secondly,the formation and development of Marx's concept of equality are sorted out.It is pointed out that Marx's concept of equality has experienced three stages,namely from the germination in the early 1840 s to the formal production in the mid-1940 s and then to the enrichment and perfection in the later stages.Through arduous theoretical exploration,Marx formed his own complete scientific theoretical system.Thirdly,it summarizes the basic theoretical connotation of Marx's concept of equality.In Marx's thought,the fundamental reform of ownership is the foundation to achieve equality,the perfection of political system is the basic guarantee to achieve equality,the free and all-round development of human beings is the value direction to achieve equality,and the index system to measure social equality is comprehensive,among which the most important is the scale of things and people.Fourthly,Marx's concept of equality starts from real humankind and emphasizes that equality is the existing activity created by them.Marx's concept of equality has a strong practicality,which is based on practice and constantly enriched and developed in practice.The revolutionary feature of Marx's concept of equality is mainly embodied in its critical spirit.Finally,it illustrates the value orientation of Marx's concept of equality and its theory and practice in contemporary China.This paper holds that the Communist Party of China has always regarded marxism as the guiding ideology for the construction of our socialist society.In the new era,the study of Marx and his idea of equality,and the construction and improvement of the concept of socialist equality with Chinese characteristics are of great significance to the realization of the two centenary goals.
