Shenyang Trial Of Japanese War Criminals

On June 9,1956,Shenyang Military Commission tried 36 Japanese war criminals with high positions and serious criminal circumstances.The tribunal was established by the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China.It is another important trial after the Nuremberg trial,the Tokyo trial and the Berry trial.In this trial,the Chinese government creatively put forward the policy of combining education reform with leniency.In this way,the imperialist ideology in the minds of Japanese war criminals was eliminated,and the purpose of making them confess their guilt and repentance was achieved.The trial completely solved the problem of Japanese war criminals related to China.The study of this trial can expand the research on the history of World War II and the history of China-Japan relations,as well as help people understand the evils of Japanese imperialism in the war.At the same time,the Shenyang trial was conducted under the Chinese government's in-depth analysis of the domestic and foreign environment at that time.To a certain extent,it was the product of changes in the domestic and foreign situation,which has certain reference significance for us in dealing with domestic and foreign affairs today.In view of this,this article will analyze the trial from the following four chapters.The first part analyses the background of Shenyang trial.From the international and domestic background,this paper analyses the factors that influence and promote the trial in Shenyang.The second part analyses the preparations for the Shenyang Military Court.The main task of that is to receive and reform Japanese war criminals and to investigate Japanese war criminals.The third part analyses the process of Shenyang Trial,including the list of war criminals to be tried,the legal basis of trial,the specific process and content.The fourth part is the evaluation of Shenyang trial.
