Research On The Development Strategy Of Vietnam Mai Chau Volunteer Tourism

Volunteer tourism is a new type of tourism combining tourism activities with voluntary activities,which helps local people who living in poor and undeveloped areas.Volun-tourism gives many benefits to Volun-tourist,local people,local government and organizer.Volun-tourists can not only enjoy natural environment,but also communicate with local residents,experience unique local cultur,enjoy local special cuisine.It is more meaningful when Volun-tourism helps to improve living conditions,education,...for local residents.With local people,Volun-tourism can increase their knowledge,create jobs,raise incomes and living standards.In cooperation with local government,Volun-tourism promotes local economic development,attracts investment,protects local culture,preservers environment,improves tourism image.With organizer,appreciating the participation of Volunteer tourism activities enhances social responsibility and social status.In short,Volunteer tourism is a new type of tourism,which is a form of sustainable tourism bringing many benefits to the society.First of all,analyzing the research results of foreign volun-tourism and Vietnamese volun-tourism gives the definition of volun-tourism : volun-tourism is a tourism combined with philanthropy,which tourism activities gives benefits like education,construction,natural environmental protection,..to local people,who live in poor and needy areas,and then,analyzing and comparing volun-tourism with other types like: Mass tourism,alternative tourism,pro-poor tourism.Secondly,the thesis evaluates the macro-Industrial environment of Vietnam Hoa Binh province Mai Chau district volun-tourism,explores its advantages and opportunities,analyses its developing actualities,Thirdly,by means of survey questionnaire of Mai Chau town 5villages(B(?)n Lác 1? B(?)n Lác 2? Pom Coong?Nà Phòn ?Nà Thia)local residents' understanding to volun-tourism and Tourist's satisfaction is assessed.the thesis usesSPSS to analyze the survey data finding existing problems of Vietnam volunteer tourism,and then gives some countermeasure suggestions.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)Vietnam has a stable political environment,economic development,improved social and cultural level,abundant natural environment,favourable geographical location,which gives a good macro environment for the development of volun-tourism in Vietnam.Vietnam is very rich in natural and cultural tourism resources and;improving in transportation,infrastructure and tourism facilities;increasing in market volume,which lays a foundation for the development of volun-tourism.(2)At present,Vietnam's volun-tourism is mostly focused on Vietnam's north-central and north mountainous areas,which makes tourist type refer to be strata,scale of volun-tourism is small,most of all activities are related to education and donation.(3)Resident's recognition of volun-tourism is "increasing job opportunities(M=4.58)”," attracting government support(M=4.72)”," hoving more tourist(M=5.00)”,that 3 fields get high degree of recognition.The 2 fields " volun-tourism has changed local traditional culture and customs(M=2.43)” and "volun-tourism has caused of social problems such as theft and gambling(M=2.47)" is low degree of recognition.At present,The satisfaction of Volun-tourist to Volun-tourism products like : "infrastructure,water,electric,transportation(M=3.11)”," goods and shopping senter(M=3.13)”,“telephone network(M=2.96)” is lower than other fields.(4)At present,Vietnam's volun-tourism has the following problems: the urgent need to improve infrastructure,telephone network and other communication facilities are unsatisfactory,product and shopping center need to be optimized,accommodation facilities and environment need to be improved.The main reasons is insufficient understanding of the of local government to volun-tourism,lack of overall strategy,investment and human resources profession.(5)Based on the above research results,the author gives some below suggestions : raising awareness of volun-tourism among local government and residents,attracting government's strategy and investment,which helps to improve infrastructure of volun-tourism and living standard,to optimize the service facilities of volun-tourism,attracting more human resources profession.This strategy can help to deal with existing problems and can promote Vietnam's volun-tourism development.
