Before the success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979,Iran was one of the main ally of the United States in the Middle East and one of the two pillars. The academic community conducted in-depth research on the relationship between the United States and Iran at various stages before the Islamic Revolution, but as a symbol of inter-state relations. The situation in Iranian Americans is often taken over.Since the US government sold huge amounts of advanced weapons and equipment to Iran in 1973,a large number of US military advisers and technicians have come to work in Iran. The number of Americans in Iran has even accounted for half of the number of foreigners in Iran. However, the US-Iran relationship deteriorated rapidly during the Islamic Revolution, falling from the apex to the bottom. As a result, the Carter administration withdrew most of the American expatriates in Iran in the short term.In fact, the evacuation of expatriates is not only an inevitable measure for the protection of overseas citizens, but also a natural extension of national interests.Overseas evacuation is an important means of realizing the protection of overseas citizens and a watershed in the change of relations between countries.Because of the particularity of Iranian identity, the change in their numbers can not only reflect the evolution of Iranian policy during the Carter administration. The US government's evacuation during the Islamic Revolution was a major political issue in the US-Iran relationship, but it did not attract enough attention from the academic community.Based on the previous researches in the academic circle, this paper briefly analyzes how the US government responds to the Islamic revolution in Iran, and highlights the situation of Iranian Americans in the Islamic revolution, and explores the US government's evacuation operation.Impact and significance, with a view to deepening the study of the relationship between the United States and Iran. The first chapter gives an overview of the US-Iran relations before the Islamic Revolution in Iran,The second chapter focusing on the situation of Iranian Americans; The third chapter discusses the reasons for the US government to evacuate from Iran; The fourth chapter discusses the implementation process of the US government's evacuation action; The fifth chapter discusses the US-Iran relationship after the US evacuation operation. As the country with the highest degree of globalization in the world, the United States has its diaspora distributed all over the world. The US government's mechanisms and measures for protecting the interests of overseas diasporas are of great significance. The study found that the Carter administration evacuation during the Islamic Revolution experienced a process of transformation, from the early prevention and protection of the Islamic Revolution to the substantial reduction of the number of Americans in the middle of the period to the full withdrawal of the revolution.
