In the information age,government microblog is one of the crucial forms for the government to promote its openness of government affairs and electronic governance.It has important practical significance for improving the openness of government information,promoting the transparency of government governance and enhancing the participation of citizens.Therefore,this paper focused on the factors that influence the public participation in government microblog.Based on theories such as Use and Gratifications Approach,D&M Information System Success Model,this paper argues that the theme,form,time,date,number of fans,daily average blog volume of government microblog;economic development level;level of information openness will affect the enthusiasm of public participation in government microblog.This paper takes the government microblog information of 30 provincial capitals as the data source,crawls 300 items of data before February 5,2019 in each city,and then take them as the sample for research.Through linear regression analysis of relevant factors,this paper finds that the theme of government microblog,the release time,release date and the number of microblog fans have an significant impact on public participation: with respect to the government microblog themes,“public participation”and “event broadcast” have an obvious impact on public participation,while another 14 themes such as urban construction,transportation,ecological civilization,education,employment training,cultural activities and sports,people's livelihood security,government affairs and tourism have no significant impact on public participation;considering the period of microblog release,12:00-14:00 and 14:00-18:00 have significant impact on public participation,while 8:00-12:00 and 18:00-8:00 the next day have no impact on public participation;in terms of the release date,the rest day is more likely to arouse public participation than the government microblog released on the working day.In addition,the study also found that the form of government micro-blog,daily average blog volume and economic development level,information openness level have no significant impact on public participation.This paper also discussed the reasons behind it.At the end of the paper,the author summarizes the results and shortcomings of the paper,and looks forward to the future research.
