Research On The Construction Of International Friendship City In Jiaozuo From The Perspective Of Public Diplomacy

The connections among countries in the world have become increasingly closer under the promotion of economic globalization and regional integration.International friendship city,as one of the important forms in international interaction and cooperation,arouses great attention among the governments in the world.However,there still exists the unbalanced situation on the development of international friendship cities in China.And the work of local friendship cities is still in the stage of continuous exploration.Public diplomacy,as one of the diversified diplomatic means,can direct the development on International friendship cities from official,semi-official and non-governmental level.The thesis,taking 15 cities in Henan Province as reference,analyzes the development of friendship cities in Jiaozuo city from five dimensions.It finds that the characteristics on friendship cities in Jiaozuo are short interaction length,narrow interaction range,shallow interaction depth,low interaction willing and weak interaction frequency.Then,from the perspective of public diplomacy,the thesis sums up the problems in the construction of Jiaozuo international friendship city,including insufficient government support,negative behavior of CPAFFC(Chinese People's Association for Friendship),low public participation,poor external propaganda,and unsatisfactory exchanges among international friendship cities.Finally,in terms of the problems mentioned above,It proposes some strategies on the followings: to strengthen the government support,to enhance the role of CPAFFC and mass participation in the international interaction body,to expand media publicity,to enrich interaction contents and improve external relations in the international propaganda,to establish systematic communication content and carry out substantive exchanges between friendship cities in the international communication content.It aims to provide the practical reference for the development on friendship cities among local cities in China.
