People with mental disorders refer to those who have not recovered from a certain type of mental disorder for more than one year and have cognitive,emotional and behavioral disorders that affect their daily life and activities.Compared with intellectual disability and physical disability,people with mental disorders suffer from more serious discrimination and prejudice,and relevant problems need to be solved urgently.Mental disorder is not only a medical problem,but also a social problem.Therefore,it is necessary to intervene the rehabilitation service of the disabled with mental disorder through social work.Group work in social work has certain advantages in carrying out activities for people with mental disorders.Because people with mental disorders have similar characteristics and have been discriminated against and prejudged by those around them,group work can use this identity as a driving force for change within the group.Intervention in the form of mutual help growth group can stimulate the potential of group members to a certain extent,enhance their sense of self-worth and meet their needs of self-expression.Taking the practice of Yangguang Station in YY community of Wuhan city as an example,this paper makes an interventional study on the self-cognition of the disabled with mild mental disorder by means of group work.By means of data analysis,interviews with key figures and participatory observation,the self-cognition needs of the disabled with mental disorders were evaluated.Six group activities were carried out in combination with the physical and psychological characteristics of the disabled with mental disorders.The process evaluation and the result evaluation indicated that the mutual-help growth group intervention mental disorder disabled person's self-cognition is effective,mainly displays in the following three aspects: first,the self-worth enhancement,can correctly examine oneself,knows oneself;Second,self-expression of emotion is positive,and emotional connection is established with other group members to form a friendly mutual aid group.Third,the sense of self-efficacy and willingness to take action are enhanced.Afterwards,it reflects on the involvement of the mutual-aid growth group in the service activities of the disabled with mental disorders,explores the service mode of the mutual-aid growth group in the disabled with mental disorders,and reflects on the development skills and the promotion of the service of this research activity,so as to provide practical experience for the group work to intervene in the practice of self-recognition of the disabled with mental disorders.
