Casework Is Involved In The Adaptation Of The Mentally Disabled Elderly In The New Nursing Home

With the rapid growth of the elderly population in China,the problem of population aging and old-age care is increasingly prominent,Alzheimer's disease is a disease with high incidence in the elderly population,the number of people with Alzheimer's disease has risen sharply in the elderly.China's old-age care system is still in the development stage,due to the shortage of old-age care and medical resources,there are very few institutions providing professional care services for the mentally retarded elderly.Most patients' families will adopt the old-age care in institutions under the pressure of reality.Due to the particularity of the disease,the elderly with Alzheimer's disease will be more alert to the unfamiliar environment when they enter the nursing home.In the face of major changes in the living environment,they will have adaptive problems.Guided by the theory of ecosystem,this study collects research data through participatory observation and unstructured interview,and adopts the intervention method of social work to intervene and intervene the adaptability of the elderly with Alzheimer's disease newly admitted to nursing homes,so as to explore effective ways to solve the adaptability problem of the elderly with Alzheimer's disease.This study adopts the method of unstructured interview to assist the subject to change self-cognition,reduce psychological pressure and eliminate the subject's irrational suicidal thoughts;help the client build social support network by improving the client's interpersonal communication and environmental adaptability;encourage the client to participate in a variety of activities organized by the nursing home,improve the client's self-confidence and enthusiasm for activities,help the client to adapt to the environment of the nursing home as soon as possible,and solve the problem of the client's environmental adaptability when entering the nursing home.Through the research,it is found that,guided by the theory of ecosystem,adopting the method of case work has an obvious effect on the adaptability of the elderly with dementia in the new nursing home,which has certain practicability.However,this study still has some limitations.The case work method can only solve the adaptability problem of the research object with limited influence scope,and the universality of this solution still needs further research.At thesame time,due to the limitation of their own ability,social workers have not promoted the improvement and implementation of relevant welfare policies and social security mechanism from the macro level,changed the negative cognition of the public on the retarded group,and improved the living environment of the retarded group.
