A Study Of Foster’s Ecological Marxist Thought

Human beings and nature are closely related,nature in providing human survival information at the same time,human beings are also dynamic transformation of nature.In the context of the development of capitalism,with the development of productive forces,the contradiction between human beings and nature has become apparent.Some Western Marxist scholars try to ease the current contradictions and try to add ecological elements and take a unique research path when studying Marxism.Foster,an ecological Marxist in the United States,is one of them.From the perspective of ecology,based on materialism,he interprets Marx’s ecology and greatly promotes the development of ecological Marxism.The thesis is divided into four chapters,the first chapter introduces the research purpose,significance,research status and research methods at home and abroad,through a simple overview,clarifies the direction of research,from the macroscopic understanding of foster ecological Marxist thought;the second chapter systematically summarizes the formation background of Foster’s ecological Marxist thought.It is on the basis of Marx’s materialist thought,under the influence of many kinds of ideological forces,and influenced by the great background of the times,that it provides fertile soil for Foster’s ecological Marxist thought,and Middle Ages and to pave the groundwork for the later exposition,and the third chapter focuses on combing the main contents of Foster’s ecological Marxist thought.Starting with ecological materialism,foster combed the ecological implication of Marx’s materialist view of nature and materialist historical view,reconstructed the theory of "metabolic fracture" and criticized the capitalist system,thus summing up the characteristics of Foster’s ecological Marxist thought.The fourth chapter analyzes the rationality and limitation of its ecological Marxist thought from both positive and negative aspects,and its thought not only enriches the ecological thought of Marxism,provides a new perspective of research,but also has the misconception of over-interpretation,which provides us with ideas for dialectical view of its ecological Marxist thought.Foster expanded the research category of Marxist theory,affirmed that Marx’s world view is a profound and systematic ecological world outlook,in addition,we also need to note that Foster’s ecological Marxist thought is still in development,his proposed construction plan is still only a blueprint,need to conform to the development of the Times.More need to be based on reality.
