In the decades after the war,the direction of Sino-US relations has been affected by Sino-US relations during the Anti-Japanese War.Therefore, academic circles have conducted extensive research on the three-party relationship between the United States, the Chiang Kai-shek National Government, and the Chinese Communist Party. The "Stilwell Incident" featuring US Representative to China Stilwell and the National Commander Chiang Kai-shek as the important historical turning point before the victory of the Anti-Japanese War also received significant attention from the academic circles. From the perspective of the "Stilwell Incident",this paper summarizes the characteristics of the US policy toward China by studying the adjustment of the US policy before and after the outbreak of this incident and the targeted and timely response of the Chinese Communist Party, and explores the CCP and the United States.Valuable diplomatic experience acquired during the process of communication. After the outbreak of the Pacific War,Stilwell was sent to China for the need for Sino-US cooperation and was responsible for assisting Chiang Kai-shek National Government in fighting against Japan.Due to the difference between work goals and interest need, and the influence of the excellent performance of the Chinese Communist Party in China, the friction between Stilwell and Chiang Kai-shek continued, which eventually led to the "Stilwell Incident".There is far-reaching historical logic behind this incident. As early as the Opium War,the United States had joined the interest of the old Western power in Asia.In the late 1930 s,the United States tried to share its interests in China with Japan through the "appeasement policy." However, the greedy ambition of fascist Japan forced the United States to found an alliance with China. The United States tried to cooperate with the Kuomintang and the Communist Party under the guidance of the "realism" principle. After the "Stilwell Incident",the United States drastically adjusted its policy toward China and completely embarked on the road of "supporting Chiang Kai-shek and anti-communism." As a young political party, the Communist Party of China, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance, was deeply affected by the ideology. However, due to the reality of the collusion between the Soviet Union and Japan, the CCP has been adjusting its attitude of engagement with the United States in a timely manner, and actively responded to the US policy toward China and sought cooperation for the ultimate victory of the War of Resistance. The CPC has consistently adhered to the principle of independence and selfreliance in its engagement with the United States. The CCP has expressed firm opposition to the policy of "supporting the Chiang Kai-shek" before the victory of the US Anti-Japanese War.Summarizing the US China policy,it can be established that ambivalence is the most prominent feature of the US policy toward China, and it reflects the US-based power of supremacy in China. The civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party after the victory of the AntiJapanese War not only proved the complete failure of the long-term goals of the US China policy, but also highlighted the serious mistakes of the US policy in China. The Communist Party of China has experienced a severe diplomatic environment under the brutal war situation. However, the CCP has persisted in its work and has accumulated valuable experience and wealth for the diplomatic undertaking of the People's Republic of China.
