Golda Meir is one of the most outstanding politicians and diplomats in the history of Israel. She served successively as the director of the political department of the Jewish agency, the first minister of Israel to the Soviet Union, minister of labor, minister of foreign affairs, general secretary of the labor party and prime minister of Israel. She was known as the "midwife of Israel" and the "iron lady of the Middle East".Ben Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel, described her as "the only man in his cabinet".Many years of experience in politics made her gradually form a unique diplomatic thought, which had a profound influence on the foreign policy of Israel and the political situation in the Middle East at that time.Golda Meir's diplomatic thought has a distinct historical background. On the one hand,Israel has been engaged in military confrontation with neighboring Arab countries for a long time since its founding, with constant conflicts. On the other hand, under the background of the Cold War,the United States and the Soviet Union fought for the Middle East and frequently interfered in the Middle East affairs, which made the situation in the Middle East more volatile. In addition, the complicated domestic political environment and her many years of political experience gradually formed a unique diplomatic ideological system.Served as foreign minister in the beginning, she put forward by technical aid to Africa diplomatic "break" the idea, and then the middle of her political career, especially the prime minister's tenure and put forward the diplomatic power thoroughly down to the United States and on the Israeli-palestinian conflict "one don't allow thoughts of the",which constitute the main contents of her diplomatic thought. These diplomatic thoughts guided Israel to establish diplomatic relations with emerging African countries, deepen the development of the special relationship between the United States and Israel, and its policy towards Arab from 1967 to 1973,especially its diplomatic activities during the War of Consumption and the Yom Kippur War etc,and were constantly improved in these practices. There is no doubt that Golda Meir was a charismatic female politician who enjoyed a high reputation in the western world. Her foreign thoughts and foreign policies have effectively guaranteed national security, won Israel long-term support from the United States and a certain international reputation, and made Israel seize the strategic initiative in the Arab-Israeli conflict.According to the available information, she longed for Arab-Israeli reconciliation and made realistic efforts in the early stage of her political career. However,Israel's severe security situation and the increasingly intensified Arab-Israeli contradictions at that time made her stance and foreign policy towards Arab become increasingly tough, which to some extent hindered the process of Arab-Israeli reconciliation.
