Israel and South Korea both are founded after World War II,which are enjoying a rapid economic growth. For Israel,South Korea is a strategic bridgehead in East Asia;for South Korea, relations with Israel are necessary considerations when formulating its Middle East strategy. The contact between the Jews and the Koreans has a long history.Long term exchanges have laid a good historical foundation for friendly exchanges between the two sides after the founding of Israel and South Korea. After 1948,the exchanges between the two countries have been tortuous, including the following three stages: The first stage was from 1948 to 1973.driven by their respective political needs, the two countries paid attention to each other, established diplomatic relations in 1962 and political and economic exchanges began gradually. The second stage was from 1973 to 1991.The outbreak of the oil crisis forced South Korea to adopt the Middle East Pragmatic Diplomacy, which caused the normal diplomacy between the Israel and South Korea to be suspended.During this period, the humanities exchange between the two countries have made important contributions to the maintenance of bilateral relations. The third stage was from 1991 to 2018.In the 1990 s,a series of changes took place in the international situation.Under the guidance of economic interests, relations between the Israel and South Korea warmed up.Especially after the Asian financial crisis at the end of the 20 th century,South Korea underwent economic transformation, and the mutual attraction of scientific and technological capabilities has become an opportunity for comprehensive and rapid development of Israel-South Korea relations.Throughout the course of development of relations between Israel and South Korea, the two countries have performed well in exchanges in many fields and have outstanding characteristics, which deserves further discussion.First of all, both Israel and South Korea have outstanding innovation capabilities, the two countries have perfect innovation cooperation mechanisms and outstanding results, and the complementarity of innovative industries has made it possible for further in-depth exchanges between the two countries.Next, humanistic exchanges are outstanding in the development of relations between Israel and South Korea, and the spontaneity of the people is its distinctive feature. Finally,Israel and South Korea are both parties tointernational hot-spot regional issues, and their mutual support has important positive significance in maintaining the good momentum of development of bilateral relations. The thesis draws the following conclusions: Firstly, the bilateral relationship between Israel and South Korea has undergone a tortuous development process, and the importance in each other's diplomatic strategy has been increasing.Secondly, after more than 70 years of development,Israel-South Korea relations have made outstanding achievements in political mutual trust, economic and trade exchanges, innovation cooperation, defense cooperation, and cultural exchanges.Thirdly, although Israel-South Korea relations still face unresolved issues, none of these contradictions involve the core national interests of the two countries, driven by emotional foundations, security interests and common economic interests, the future trend of Israel-South Korea relations remains optimistic. The economic, trade, scientific and technological and military fields will be the focus of future cooperation between the two countries.Fourthly, the study of Israel-South Korea relations is a new perspective to research on the internal relationship between the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula.
