The Construction Of Social Support Network For The Elderly People Living Alone In Rural Areas

In recent years,the news that the old people who live alone have died for a long time is not uncommon.This phenomenon has aroused the social thinking about the old-age problem of the old people who live alone.Influenced by many factors,the phenomenon that children do not live together with their parents or even separated from each other is becoming more and more common.The traditional family pension function has begun to deteriorate.The elderly living alone not only do not have a spouse,but also lack the care of their children.They are more vulnerable groups.However,the existing research focuses more on the quality of life and physical and mental health of the elderly living alone,and rarely discusses the construction of social support network for the elderly living alone in rural areas.Taking y community in Nanjing as an example,this paper takes part in the project of building social support network for the elderly living alone,and studies the construction of social support network for the elderly living alone in rural areas by using observation method and semi-structured interview method.Through the field survey,it is found that the elderly living alone in Y community have problems such as the alienation of support subjects and the lack of support content,and the social support network is on the verge of breaking down.According to the current situation of the social support network for the elderly living alone in Y community,y community has cultivated two professional social support teams-volunteer assistance group and neighborhood mutual assistance group,to expand the scale of the support network for the elderly living alone;meanwhile,it has accurately supported the service content to meet the needs of the elderly living alone and spiritual comfort support.Finally,the practice of building social support network for the elderly living alone in Y community is evaluated.It is found that the support network for the elderly living alone in Y community has been expanded,the actual support strength has been enhanced,and the frequency of participating in activities has also increased.However,there are still some problems in the project,such as the quality of voluntary service needs to be improved,the service facilities for the aged are not perfect,and the cultivation level of team leaders is not enough.In order to promote the construction of social support network for the elderly living alone in Y community,the study suggests that the community should build a communication platform,strengthen team capacity building;promote multiple linkage,enhance social support force;standardize supervision mechanism,ensure long-term support system;finally,strengthen family support,promote the construction of filial piety culture.
