The city is the place where people live and work, and it is the main material carrier of people's living space.More and more people are crowding into the city.Great changes have taken place in the external forms and internal functions of urban space. This change is based on the fact that cities have constantly encountered new problems and contradictions in the process of social development. On the other hand,it is also due to the continuous enrichment and improvement of theories on urban research In recent years, the process of urbanization has been continuously promoted, and the attention on urban research has been increasingly raised.Under these circumstances, many theoretical thoughts on urban research have been generated.Among them, the theory of urban Marxism is one of them.It is an ideological theory with Marxism as the core and urban development as the research subject.Since the reform and opening up,China has made great progress in the construction and development of cities.Cities are getting bigger and bigger, and their development is becoming more civilized and prosperous.Nowadays,China is taking an increasingly important part in the international stage. In the meantime, with the improvement of China's comprehensive national strength,China's urbanization rate has been increasing rapidly, rising to 58.52 percent in 2017.Of course,it is worth thinking that in the process of rapid development of urbanization, some practical problems are inevitably encountered, which calls for urgent use of theory to analyze and solve the existing problems in reality. This paper intends to analyze the status quo and problems of urban development in China from the perspective of the rational content of urban Marxism theory,in the hope of achieving.better urbanization development in China and building a more beautiful and sustainable Chinese city.
