A Study On The Culture Of The Phoenix Wax In Xiangxi

As a unique cultural image,batik contains and embodies the daily life customs of ethnic minorities,the characteristic of the charm of the regional cultural differences,the rich connotation of aesthetic concepts,and so on.This paper describes the natural habitat of Phoenix,analyzes and probes into the origin,production technology,pattern type,cultural connotation and social function of batik in Phoenix area of western Hunan.It can not only systematically record the unique wax painting tools and artistic expressions of Phoenix batik in the way of words and pictures,but also analyze the humanities and folklore of Phoenix through batik,and it is also helpful to carry forward the ethnic traditional culture.It is of great practical significance to promote the prosperity and development of local culture.With deep respect for his own ethnic culture,this paper combines the theories and methods of anthropology,ethology,art and other multi-disciplinary research,and on the basis of using various ways to find all kinds of literature,periodicals and existing monographs,books and county records related to batik,first introduces the Phoenix field site in western Hunan,and makes a statement from the aspects of historical evolution and natural habitat,and sums up the unique natural conditions.The strong human environment lays the foundation for the cultivation of batik dye,the choice of cloth and the subject matter of batik creation.Secondly,through in-depth interviews with Phoenix batik artists and tourists,combined with the local batik products and historical literature,this paper expounds the historical origin of Phoenix batik from three aspects: literature record,folklore and artist oral description.Then the whole production process of Phoenix batik wax,drawing wax,soak water,dyeing,oxidation and dewaxing is described in detail,and the pattern types are summarized.From the aspect of material and cultural connotation,this paper summarizes the unique forms of expression,exquisite color matching and novel batik tools,which form the characteristics of Phoenix batik.And then from witnessing history,revealing folk customs,transmitting beliefs,cultural blending,Metaphor symbolizes the spiritual and cultural connotation of Phoenix batik from five angles.Finally,it analyzes the function of publicity and teaching of Phoenix wax dyeing culture from the aspects of religious induction,cultural self-confidence and national unity.This paper expounds the communication function of Phoenix wax dyeing culture from distinguishing identity,shaping Phoenix image,and showing humanistic feelings.The paper explains the economic development function of Phoenix wax dyeing culture from three aspects:building cultural tourism brand,driving local economic development,and helping the rural revitalization.The research of this paper interprets the cultural connotation of Phoenix batik in western Hunan from the perspective of ethology and artistic anthropology,and plays a positive role in promoting the development of Phoenix batik in combination with the theories of related disciplines.
