This thesis primarily discusses the culture that has being used as research method and the application of the ontology in international relations theories. The culture is one of the important research objects of the international relations research. In the study of international relations, different from these factors such as the politics, economy and military etc., culture thoroughly permeates the politics, economy, military and other factors. Along with development of international relations study, researchers are dissatisfied with the research of the politics, economy and military, which are called "hard" factors. Particularly after the end of the Cold War, the culture, as a factor that is valued more and more, has played an important role in the international relations realm. Almost all the new and influenceful western international relations theories originated from the culture. With this cowgirl, the Chinese international relations theories research also appeared a culture heat. But current culture study in the international relations realm only focused on the cultural function, meaning and effect. The research that explains how the culture affects the progress of the international relations is much less than the former. My thesis is to try to explain how the culture work in the international relations from the " how" angle. The thesis is divided into totally four parts:The first part: In recent years, the view of culture angle is an investigative and new favorite subject in international relations. This does not mean that culture just begins to be used as a research angle of the international relations research, but it well reflects scholars' dissatisfaction in the international relations with the former study paradigm and their quest of the new research paradigm. The first part discusses the concept of culture primarily in the international relations and three kinds of view of cultural angle in international relations theories study paradigm. After the analysis of a few culture's definition, we can say that culture in international relations realm a set of notion system that influence a country's foreign conduct, making-decision and enforcement of foreign policy, with the core of value view and belief. In other words, the culture is collective knowledge that is formed by the behaviorists' interaction, and a kind of the knowledge, which is hold by the whole society and is constructed, including norm, customary practice, customs and institution and so on. And this part also limits the scope of this thesis's research. The textual corpus is to discuss how culture affects the international relations, not purely putting how much function ofculture in the academic theories as the highlight of comprehension. Then, this part descript Samuel P Huntingdon's 'the theory of civilizational confliction ', Alexander ?Wendt's constructism and a Japanese scholar's international culture theory. The second part: In international relations realm, the research of culture inevitably involves its internal level structure. As a result, it is apt to adopt the level analysis method of international relations to release the cultural stationary construction, then to explain the relations between the culture (knowledge) and the power, to explain the interaction between the culture and international relations. This is just an aspect, on the other hand, this part adopts R?Johnson's 'culture circulating theory' to expound and proof the cultural dynamic function mode, including the creation of cultural force, cultural production, the formation of the text and culturally reading. Although this incise analysis of culture cannot cover all cultural contents, it is meaningful to analyze cultural dynamic function mode and the cultural stationary construction. The third part: The third part puts the culture under the consideration of global language context, easily provoking the association of culture and economic globalization. In fact, like economic globalization, the culture is also globalized. A certain the cultural movement is just...
