Study On The Inheritance Of Tujia Brocade

Tujia brocade witnesses Tujia history and represents Tujia culture.It not only reflects the unique aesthetics of Tujia people,but also serves as the emotional sustenance of generations of Tujia people.Because of the unique geographical location and living environment,Tujia brocade was born thanks to the wisdom of Tujia women.However,due to the improvement of traffic conditions and influence of modern machinery production in western Hunan,the inheritance of Tujia brocade is not optimistic even if it is successfully applied to the world heritage site.Therefore,the author chooses the inheritance mode of Tujia brocade as the entry point for analysis and research.Based on the four aspects of inheritance subject,production mode,product type and consumer group,the inheritance mode can be divided into the traditional inheritance of family or family inheritance,and the open modern inheritance of the Training Institute that is open to the society.The characteristics and elements of traditional inheritance and modern inheritance are analyzed to find the reasons for the transformation from traditional inheritance to modern inheritance.This paper studies the problems encountered in the modern inheritance of Tujia brocade and tries to find new ways to solve the problems.Based on the theory of ethnology,and with the relevant theoretical methods of sociology and art,the author has conducted a field survey on Liu Dai'e,Ye Shuiyun and Ye Liping,finally deciding to choose “Ye's brocade” founded by Ye Liping as the field point for it is a complete handicraft enterprise including brocade,sewing,marketing.It has a few stores and its Training Institute which has permanent workers,who have a good understanding of brocade,the traditional inheritance mode of production and product types and uses.In addition,the institutes cooperate with Longshan employment bureau to set up a brocade employment class,which is a kind of inheritance subject of the modern open inheritance method and shows the development and trend of the modern inheritance object.Also,the sales of the stores can more comprehensively reflect the modern heritage of consumer groups and types of consumer products.Although the author divides the inheritance mode into traditional inheritance and modern inheritance through several factors,the traditional inheritance and modern inheritance do not mean allowing no flexibility.Just for the changes of inheritance subject,production mode,inheritance products,consumers,and some other factors lead to traditional inheritance to the modern inheritance and inheritance transformation mode is better for passing down the Tujia brocade.There is no doubt that modern inheritance also has new problems and difficulties.The author has made some studies and tries to find some solutions.
