The Impaired And Repair Of China-ROK Trust Relations After The THAAD Event

Trust is produced with the emergence of human society and affects all aspects of human society.Trust can promote cooperation between people,thus promoting the development of human society.Trust also plays an important role in international relations.The relationship of trust between countries is the guarantee to promote the cooperation between countries,thus promoting the development of countries and the whole world.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the construction of trust between countries.Since the reform and opening up,China‘s comprehensive strength has been constantly improving,and its international status and influence have also been constantly increasing.This has made neighboring countries worry and fear about China ‘ s future development,which has had a negative impact on deepening cooperation and development between China and neighboring countries.Therefore,China should build and develop trust relations with its neighbors to promote win-win development.As one of the more influential countries in China‘s neighboring countries,the development of the trust relationship between China and the ROK is not only conducive to the development of the two countries,but also conducive to enhancing China ‘ s credibility and providing an example for neighboring countries to build trust.Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK in August1992,China-ROK relations have achieved all-round,multi-disciplinary and leapfrog development in the past 28 years.The potential for cooperation between the two sides has been fully exerted and tremendous benefits have been brought to the two peoples,it has played an important role in maintaining regional peace.The cooperative relationship between China and South Korea has continued to deepen.In 1998,the two sides established a “cooperative partnership oriented toward the 21 st century.“ In 2003,the two countries upgraded their bilateral relations to a “ comprehensive cooperative partnership.“ In 2008,they upgraded their bilateral relations to a "strategic cooperative partnership." In July 2014,the two sides announced that China and the ROK would strive to be partners for common development,regional peace,revitalization of Asia andworld prosperity.The development of China-ROK bilateral trust relations has brought tremendous benefits to the two peoples and injected positive energy into the overall stability of the situation on the peninsula and multilateral cooperation in East Asia.However,due to the impact of the THAAD incident,the China-ROK trust relationship has broken down,which not only makes the economic,political and cultural cooperation between the two countries stagnate and collapse,but also is not conducive to the maintenance of peace and stability in northeast Asia.In order to resolve the differences between China and South Korea,the two countries actively carried out dialogue and consultation,and finally reached consensus,so that the broken trust relationship can be repaired and developed.China and South Korea should pay more attention to maintaining the trust between the two countries after the THAAD incident.The two countries will promote the development of trust through dialogue and cooperation in political,economic and cultural fields,and build a sound cooperation mechanism to better play their role in the international arena.
