Guanghua Store Research(1937-1945)

The Shaan-Gan-Ning border area was the political guidance center for the Chinese Communist Party's leadership of the enemy's anti-Japanese war and the total rear area of the enemy's anti-Japanese base during the Anti-Japanese War.In the early days of the War of Resistance Against Japan,most of the fiscal revenue of the Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region depended on foreign aid.At this time,the border region already had internal business.With the change of the war situation,the importation of materials in the border areas was restricted.At the same time,the increase in the number of party,government and military personnel brought many challenges to the border areas that were already lacking in materials and financially difficult.Under such circumstances,the border government established the first public store,Guanghua Store,on April 1,1938.At the beginning of the establishment of Guanghua Store,the primary task was to purchase materials,import necessary commodities for the border area,ensure the supply of party,government and military organs,accumulate funds for the banks in the border area and issue Guanghua store price vouchers.In 1939,on the basis of the previous tasks,Guanghua Store increased production assistance,supplied industrial raw materials for industrial production in the border area and assisted the factory in marketing its products.After the Wannan Incident,foreign aid in the border area was cut off,and in the case of financial difficulties,Guanghua Store invested in the formation of a transportation team on the basis of the previous business,assisted the export of salt and local products in the border area,and accumulated funds while stabilizing the market finance.No longer for the purpose of making money,but for the purpose of adjusting the market,promoting commercial circulation,and stimulating the development of industry and commerce,from the past financial-based stores to constructive stores.Guanghua Store,as the first public store established in Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and established branches in various places,as the prototype of the new democratic country store,was the beginning of the development of the new democraticeconomy commercial trade by the central government.It has a tremendous impact and provides lessons for the establishment and development of socialist state-owned and public stores.This article studies the establishment background,main business and its particularity and historical role of Guanghua Store to achieve a systematic and comprehensive understanding of it.
