At present,China is in a critical period of social transformation,a period of structural adjustment, and a shift period of growth rate.A series of extremely challenging problems have emerged in the process of modernization.Among them, the relationship between the government and the people is an important aspect of the relationship between the state and society, and it is an important aspect of the party's mass line. However, the bureaucracy and formalism of individual officials in the government are serious, which has damaged the image of the government to a certain extent, and caused the loss of public trust in the government.Government trust,as a stabilizer of social governance and development, has received widespread attention from the academic community. As an important social media, the Internet has become a bridge and link between the government and the public. Therefore, the impact and importance of the Internet on government trust cannot be ignored. In the context of the Internet age,it is of great significance to study the impact of Internet use on government trust. From the perspective of "trust",this paper explores the impact of different Internet use motivations on government trust, and introduces political participation as an intermediary variable to try to explain the impact of network use on government trust. After model analysis, combined with the relevant theories of communication and sociology,it is found that the influence of Internet use motivation on government trust is different. The "Internet social" motivation has a significant positive effect on government trust, and the "news acquisition" motivation It has a negative impact on government trust, but it does not show significant significance;however, both "online social" and "news acquisition" have shown significant positive effects on political participation, thus verifying the "media effect promotion theory".When political participation is added to the model with mediation variables, the results show that political participation plays a part of the intermediary role between "social networking" and government trust, and there is no mediation effect between "news acquisition" and government trust. This explains to some extent the differences in the influence paths of the two motivations on government trust.Based on the results of the above empirical analysis, itis proposed that online media should establish a sense of responsibility, strengthen government cooperation with the media, enrich political participation activities, improve public political participation, improve public literacy, and enhance the ability of the public to screen information.Maitain and improve the level of government trust. In order to provide theoretical basis and policy reference for solving the problem of government trust.
