Since the division of the Korean peninsula,South Korea and North Korea have been in a military confrontation. On the one hand,South Korea is subject to the national strategy of the United States and maintains its national security by relying on the Korea-U.S.alliance.On the other hand,it has been seeking to formulate a military strategy independently.South Korea has gone through different military strategies, all of which provided the policy background and internal logic for the birth of the military strategy of the current Moon administration.Moon Jae-in administration has proposed a military strategy of "flexible deterrence",based on the analysis and judgment of the situation. The strategy aims at dealing with the asymmetric threat of North Korea,as well as building an "elite and advanced strong army",with its main strategic methods including streamlining the operational command system, building a "three-axis" military force, and building a new type of military command system between the United States and South Korea. At present, the strategy has been promoted continuously in South Korea, showing new features and rules. The current military strategic practice of the Moon administration has had an impact on the situation of the peninsula, the security situation in northeast Asia and China's strategic environment at different levels. This thsis focuses on analyzing the connotation, characteristics and influence of Moon Jae-in administration ' s military strategy, providing a realistic basis for understanding the strategic direction of South Korea,as well as predicting the future situation of the Korean peninsula,so as to providing theoretical inspiration for better handling the relations between China and South Korea.
